Description
Tudor Cottage is a 17th Century beamed cottage in the peaceful riverside hamlet of Barton, 7 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. Built in Shakespeare’s time, it is a grade II listed building and, whilst the original timber beams and wattle and daub exterior retain the cottage’s character, the interior has been suitably modernised. There is a private garden at the front and a shared garden running down to the River Avon, with seasonal fishing.
Location
In the heart of Shakespeare country, the village is on the Heart of England way and the Cotswolds, Stratford, Warwick Castle, Ragley Hall, Coughton Court, NEC & Birmingham are within easy reach.
Accommodation
Tudor Cottage was built in Shakespeare’s time, and is one of the oldest houses in the hamlet. The cottage has modern oil-fired central heating and hot water. There is a 28” wide screen television in the large beamed Lounge and the Kitchen/Diner is equipped with modern facilities. There is also a handbasin, toilet, and shower room downstairs. Upstairs there are two large beamed bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a double bed and the adjoining Bedroom 2 has twin divan beds. The rear garden leads down to the bank of the River Avon, where coarse fishing is available in season. A private front garden has a table and chairs for outdoor meals and barbeques.
