Description
Walking the Heart of England Way, you might come across the hamlet of Preston Bagot with its 12th century Church overlooking the village and canal. Next to the church, The Old Rectory is situated in 3 acres of informal gardens of lawn, trees and topiary, with lovely views across the landscape. Sit in the sun, play croquet or explore the gardens and orchard where children can find a tree house, super swing and many hiding places.
Accommodation
Choose from the large, airy ensuite bedrooms with views to the church, the gardens or the countryside. The attic bedroom with ensuite shower room is a favourite. Relax by the log fires either in the spacious living room, the cosy library or the dining room which seats 18 for formal occasions.
The Double Rooms The large double rooms have excellent facilities. While enjoying the spectacular view to the front of the house, you can choose from an extensive collection of books to read. Both have large ensuite bathrooms adding to your comfort.
The Family Room A large peaceful room enjoying views to the fields and church. As well as a large double bed the room also contains a single bed, and bathroom with shower.
The Twin Room This delightful twin bedroom enjoys views to the front and rear of the property. Take in the view up to the church at the rear and the glorious Warwickshire countryside to the front. The ensuite facilities of the room include a basin, bath and shower.
The Single Room The single room has views up the hill towards the church. The room consists of an extremely comfortable single bed, wash facilities, cupboard space and tea making equipment.
The Old Rectory
Take breakfast en famille by the AGA in the kitchen, or quietly in the adjacent morning room. Explore the gardens or follow the church path to our beautiful 12th century hilltop Church with Burne Jones windows. Continue through the fields to the canal towpath, walking back either by the Fleur-de-Lys pub at Lowsonford, or the Crab Mill at Preston Bagot.

Interesting nearby churches are the Saxon Sanctuary at Wootton, Wawen, Beaudesert at Henley-in-Arden, St. Mary’s Collegiate Church at Warwick and Worcester Cathedral. We are equidistant from Warwick Castle, Stratford-on-Avon, The Royal Show at Stoneleigh, the NEC Birmingham, with a wealth of National Trust and other stately homes to visit: Ragley, Coughton Court, Packwood, Baddesley Clinton, Charlecote and Compton Verney.
Activities
Sporting activities to enjoy include Warwick Races, punting at Stratford- on-Avon, golf at Henley-in-Arden, International Polo Cross, walking, cycling, canal boating and birdwatching. For theatre music and the arts, we have the Royal Shakespeare Company, Birmingham Royal Ballet, CBSO at the Symphony Hall, Warwick Arts, and three major festivals at Stratford, Warwick and the famous Three Choirs Festival. Local Craft Centres are The Jinney Ring at Hanbury, Yew Tree Farm at Wootton Wawen, Hatton Country World at Warwick, and Ragley Court at Alcester.
