I have eaten in Portugal and the Azores quite a lot over the years, so it is a bit disappointing there is only one Portuguese Restaurant in Warwickshire - Casa Portuguesa in Rugby. There are a number of Nando's Chicken Restaurants elsewhere in the region generally, so I have included a couple which are just over the border (although the 'Home Rule for Warwickshire' party willl argue, with some justification, that Coventry and Solihull are historically part of Warwickshire and are only now separated by unnatural political boundaries). I have never eaten in a Nando's and I can't comment at all on the quality or style. Presumably Chicken Pir-Piri will feature somewhere on the menu.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten, anywhere, was Blackened Leg of Wild Boar at the Vidago Palace Hotel in Northern Portugal. Apparently it take 24 hours to cook and the oven door has to be left open.
