Spanish Restaurants in Warwickshire

Despite the popularity of Spain for holidays, this doesn't seem to translate into a desire to eat Spanish food when back in the UK. Perhaps that is because so many people associate eating out in Spain as Tea like Mother used to make, Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding, Fish & Chips and pints of Watney's Red Barrel. Even in the more Spanish-oriented resorts in areas like Catalunya, the food is often disappointingly euro-bland and geared to the lowest common denominator of the tourist trade.

We have eaten well in Spain, but more often we have eaten without any great pleasure either on our part or on the part of the restaurant staff. One small example: I once ordered a sweet of 'Ricotta with Honey', which came served as a plastic tub of ricotta with an accompanying plastic tub of honey (of the kind sometimes served with hotel breakfasts). It just showed a complete lack of interest in making even the simplest gesture towards proper presentation. I also once ordered a dessert in a Spanish restaurant in London of a 'delicious blend of chocolate, honey, almonds and wafer' which was a proprietary chocolate bar, served on a plate and still in its wrapper.

Proper Spanish food is, of course, quite a different thing altogether, as the only restaurant in our guide to Spanish Restaurants in Warwickshire will be only to happy to demonstrate.
