As well as a number of very good equestrian centres and riding schools in Warwickshire, there are also equestrian venues that offer accommodation for you and your horse or provide lodgings with horse riding facilities.

With both the British Equestrian Federation and the British Horse Society located in Warwickshire - the BEF at the Royal Showground and National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh, and the BHS next door at Stoneleigh Deer Park - it is perhaps not surprising that there is a lot of interest in horses and equestrianism in the county.

The British Horse Society provides information on a large range of equine welfare issues in the form of leaflets, which can be ordered free or downloaded. They also have a list of equestrian events, including the levels and classes available together with the latest equine news - including press releases. Information from the British Equestrian Federation if you are travelling with horses. 1. All horses need passports and there are over 70 Defra authorised passport issuing societies or associations in the UK, listed on the Defra website. 2. The FEI passport is a document for identification of the horse and for registration of its movements, as well as information on the vaccination status of the horse. The passport is mandatory for horses competing at most international FEI sanctioned events. Further information is on the FEI website. 3. FEI registration is now mandatory for all horses and riders before competing at an International event at home or abroad, regardless of whether they hold an existing FEI Passport or have already previously competed at International level.
