Hotels in Abbots Salford

Abbott's Salford is a hamlet of Salford Priors, which is about six miles south west of Alcester and 10 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. The manor of Salford Priors first belonged to Evesham Abbey and then to Kenilworth Priory until the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII, and its history is traceable back to A.D. 708.

The Salford Hall Hotel was originally built around 1470 as a guest residence for the monks of Evesham Abbey, and was extended in Tudor times into a gracious family manor. Since then it has come down to us unchanged, as a part of England’s heritage and is Grade 1 listed for architectural and historical interest.

The 34 bedrooms are all different, each with its own individual charm and are situated in two buildings, the Main Hall and Tudor Court, a former coach house and granary, enclosing a garden.
