Hotels in Warwick

Warwick is the historic county town of Warwickshire and, according to tradition, was founded on the banks of the River Avon in the year 914 AD, when Ethelfleda, sister of Mercian king Edward the Elder built defences against Viking invaders. This became the basis of Warwick Castle which is now, of course, the crowning glory of the town. The castle was originally founded in 1068 and was rebuilt and updated a number of times. Today it is described "Britain’s greatest mediaeval experience" and combines castle ruins, largely of the 14th century, with one of the finest great houses in England.

There is a good choice of hotels in Warwick and the surrounding area. The oldest established hotel in Shakespeare country is the Warwick Arms Hotel, which was originally the property of the Earls of Warwick and has a history dating back to 1591. But behind the traditional exterior, you'll find a modern, high quality, contemporary, 34-bedroom hotel that has retained its truly individual character.

As befits a building dating back to the 17th century, every room in the Warwick Arms Hotel is 'unique' in terms of dimension and outlook; the result is that all 34 bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are individually styled to a high, contemporary standard. Facilities include: flat screen TV; freeview; 30 free TV and radio channels; broadband internet access; and views of Warwick Castle (on request).
The new Conference & Banqueting facility specialises in private functions, wedding receptions, business conferences and meetings.
The new restaurant is open to both residents and non-residents for more formal evening dining, and an informal dining area is also available for lunch.
A brand new feature bar has been installed in the conservatory area featuring a range of wines, cask ales and spirits; real ales from the Warwickshire Beer Company; freshly ground Italian coffees; and coffee liquors
